a year later, stumbled on this again; hot damn! so good; i have played the living crapola out of mine, have eaten a hole in it ahead of the pick guard, not to worry it adds character; my GT just keeps stepping up to the plate, and i only wish i could play it like you do best rgds
Very nice. Can you show us Steven Stills song “Black Queen”
@patrickscutella836 Yep. I'm touring now, but I will get to it. It is in "C" tuning. Lots of fun to play. You can also perform it in open "D".

Over the course of the last 3 months I've bought six acoustic guitars, knowing only one could stick around. Three different variations of J45, because it's been my dream acoustic for a long time, and three different Taylors, because they just intrigued me. Five have been returned. I'm an electric player and I've never bought a "real" acoustic in the 25 years I've been playing (ive had a Baby Taylor since 2002). It came down to a 2022 J45 Standard and this 517. To be honest the 517 BLEW all of the other guitars out of the water in every single category except maybe unplugged acoustics when compared with that J45 Standard. I think the J45 sounded just ever so slightly better.... Until you plug them both in. People can say what they want about that ES2, but there is zero quack in the 517 pickup. It's the most natural sounding pickup without a mic that I've ever heard. Also, I really don't find it to be harsh at all like they're normally made out to be. The Baggs in that J45 sounded like a toy guitar honestly. Pure garbage. But I found myself being a brand snob, which isn't normal for me. I allowed people to get in my head about Taylor and how they suck, and sound harsh, blah blah blah. That, coupled with me just simply wanting a J45, because "I've always wanted one," is the reason it took more that 30 seconds even to decide the Taylor was for me. Fit and finish is on a higher tier, more features, MUCH easier to work on, feels absolutely amazing (most important to me), sounds fantastic to me.
Just discovered Chris Smither! And yes, I was around back in the 70s, listening to Bonnie Raitt. What a great song writer, and immediately I wanted to learn to play his finger style, so thanks Andy!
Wow! Love the way you play, excellent 👍👍👍👍❤❤ Big like and support 👍👍👍❤❤ Take care and God bless!
Thanks for this tutorial. Awesome
Thanks for sharing your gift man. Wondering if you could do another Chris Smither tune lesson of Get a better one.

"Promo SM" ☀️
Stellar playing and it’s obvious how much fun you were having. Love the hesitation after saying you’d switch to standard tuning. I just bought one without electronics yesterday at a great discount likely due to the renaming/rebranding/discontinuation of the model and the store’s Memorial Weekend sale. Such great advice on connecting with your guitar. Thank you very much!
So nice!
Great video presentation. Passion for playing and what he does shines through. All the best!
After all these years, still such fine guitars. All the very best to Martin Guitars!

I watch Craig play in the Lehigh Valley Pa clubs. He is such a nice guy!
powerful demo, skilled and musical, enjoyed it; i have one of these, now obsolete, but i love my gt urban ash
Andy, thanks for posting this. I have one of these as well, and it’s a blast to play. Also, it’s so easy to play that I can play it for hours, whereas my hands might not be able to hang as long with some of my full-scale guitars.
Hey Andy, was wondering if you still have "deed i do" (chris smither) on your radar??..thanks
Wow. Pretty darn amazing there.
Nicely Done
Awesome work dude
See you in Sarasota soon?? :)

HEY ANDY, HOPE ALL IS WELL...WAS WONDERING IF YOU WOULD CONSIDER DOING A LESSON ON CHRIS' "THE DEVIL'S REAL"?
I'm having some issues with I feel The Same.....is it Em to Am then just blues slides in between? Love this lesson thanks!
YES, Em A , not Am . Let know if you like me to do a quick video and show it to you..
@@AndyKimbel sure Andy that would be great! Thanks! I've been crazy about the Another Way To Find You record since I bought it maybe what? 30 years ago?....
@@AndyKimbel Andy....I forgot to mention I'm a little sketchy on the double stop where the vocal is "Please Believe"......
@@AndyKimbel this info is difficult to find....I do have the first Homespun video but a lot of older stuff isn't there.....I used to host a large open mic and have played many solo gigs so Im not a complete beginner I just don't have the greatest ear.....due to disabilities I only play on rare occasions with a few friends...I feel the Same would be a great tune to use if someone wants to hear something.....thanks again much appreciated!....I subbed a long time ago
